I am a firm believer that in order to develop, sustain long term relationships there must be mutual trust. The same goes with networking and building partnerships and relationships with colleagues and clients. Focusing on maintaining your credibility, providing value and showing respect are key factors as well. This makes it much easier to ask for a referral or lead and further connect on various levels.
Check out one of my favorite articles on building trust! The SIMPLEnetworking tip is to have an airtight 30 second pitch. Before you step out for another networking event, practice your elevator pitch. Take time to craft a meaningful and effective message. Market yourself and promote your personal or company brand. Tips include writing down your speech, timing yourself and even audio recording your speech. Being prepared with a strong 30 second pitch elevates your credibility and trust.
