Lace up your sneakers and walk/run for a good cause! The 2nd Annual Hailey Bankhead Foundation INC Walk is taking place April 5th @ Gerald Matthews Park! HBF INC has been working around the clock to gain support and awareness for childhood cancer. Proceeds from the event will be used to benefit other organizations and families in need. HBF INC is a non profit, 501(c)(3) organization based in Metro-Atlanta focused on bringing awareness and action toward childhood cancer. They offer care packages, resources, information, events, etc to promote their mission and reach out to the community. Visit their site: http://www.haileybankhead.weebly.com It brings me great pleasure to announce the upcoming Garden Greets student and alumnae social networking event on April 5th @ 1pm at The Miller Ward Alumni House. This signature event attracts women from the various schools, university and healthcare to mix and mingle! As a veteran attendee, I find it an awesome event for connecting with current students, meeting alums (whom I would have never met) and reconnecting w/the university. Last year there was a live acapella female student group who sang one of my favorite Michael Jackson songs! There was a great buffet and desserts as well as an open patio for networking. Needless to say, I have already RSVP a YES to attend...hope to see you there!! The March PNB was fantastic, to say the least! 12+ professionals, students, and entrepreneurs took the extra mile to get up early and exercise their networking muscles. The Power Tip was: Network Your Hidden Talents. I encouraged the attendees to recall a situation where they had to rise to the call of duty and discovered a useful skill. This skill was able to further define some of their personalities, shape their brand or simply build their leadership. It was an amazing and thought provoking exercise! Of course, the open networking afterwards was high quality. I can not wait for the next PNB on April 11th!!! |
